Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of products eliminating scale defects by suppressing the generation of the scale of rolled stocks in a device for suppressing a surface oxidized film at the time of hot finish rolling.
SOLUTION: A group 10 of finishing mills composed by arranging plural finishing mills 11-17 for executing the finish rolling work of the rolled stock S in tandem, 1st, 2nd and 3rd surface cooling devices 41, 42 and 43 for cooling the upper and lower surfaces of the rolled stock S are respectively provided on the inlet sides of the 1st to 3rd finishing mills 11-13, and by taking the quantity of cooling water which is jetted to the rolled stock S from each surface cooling device 41, 42 or 43 as 4000 liter/min.m2 with a controller 51, the thickness of the scale is suppressed to 5 μm.
