To prevent anaerobic putrefaction of residues and reduce volume and weight of the residues by positively feeding air to the residues trapped by a screen of a dust collector.
Air is fed to feces residues within a conveying pipe 2 via a blowing nozzle 61 from an air-feeding pipe 6 having a base end part connected to a blower 4 and being provided along the conveying pipe 2. Thereby, while the residues are successively conveyed within the conveying pipe 2, the residues are brought into contact with air for many hours and the anaerobic putrefaction is prevented. The blowing nozzle 61 is provided in a lengthwise direction of the conveying pipe 2 at approximately uniform intervals so as to be capable of feeding air uniformly over approximately whole length of the conveying pipe 2. An amount of air to be fed into within the conveying pipe 2 is adjusted to a volume appropriate to maintain an aerobic condition within the conveying pipe 2. Thereby the proliferation of anaerobic bacteria is prevented and drying by air is conducted. Consequently volume reduction and weight reduction of the residues and hygienical treatment of the residues can be conducted and further generation of odor is prevented.
