Abstract:
PURPOSE: To locate a cut end of a lap sheet at a prescribed position on an outer periphery of a lap by reducing a pressing force of a lap roll to winding drums from that in feeding the lap sheet just after cutting the lap sheet and driving the winding drums to a prescribed extent.
CONSTITUTION: A pressing force of a lap roll (L) to winding drums 2 and 2 is reduced from that in feeding a lap sheet (U) just after cutting the lap sheet. When the winding drums are driven to a prescribed extent, the lap roll (L') is rotated with a radius of rotation 8. Thereby, the cut end of the lap sheet situated at a point (Q) just after the cutting is surely located at a prescribed position (R). As a result, lap piecing is well carried out.
