To provide artificial marble excellent in external appearance, heat resistance and water resistance and a methyl methacrylate-containing molding material which gives a good working environment for manufacturing the artificial marble.

The methyl methacrylate-obtaining molding material comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of a liquid resin comprising (a) a vinyl monomer, which gives a homopolymer having a glass transition temperature of at least 50°C and has a boiling point at 1 atm of at least 120°C and a vapor pressure at 30°C of at most 30 hPa, or vinyl monomers including the same, (b) vinyl monomers containing at least 50% of methyl methacrylate and (c) a polymer, (B) 50-400 pts.wt. of a filler and (C) 0.01-10 pts.wt. of a curing agent.
