Title:
MICROORGANISM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING 1-NAPHTHOL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005229810
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method with which raw material naphthalene can be charged at a high concentration into a reaction system and the objective 1-naphthol can be obtained with high productivity.

The naphthalene is oxidized in the coexistence of a microorganism having a monooxygenase activity (e.g. a transformed microorganism obtained by transforming Pseudomonas putida S12 with a plasmid pT2MO1001 containing a toluene 2-monooxygenase gene sequence derived from Burkholderia cepacia G4) in a two-phase system reaction solvent composed of an aqueous medium and an organic solvent with molecular oxygen. Thereby, the objective 1-naphthol is produced.
