Abstract:
The engines (10,10) comprise a cylinder crankcase (11,11') in which a crankshaft (12) and a camshaft (13-15) are guided. Several cylinders (18,18') comprise cylinder banks (16,17), a cylinder head with an inlet valve (20) for charge air, an exhaust valve (22) for exhaust gas, and an inlet valve (21) for fuel. A rocker arm actuates the inlet valve for charge air of respective cylinder. The geometrical outer contour of the cylinder head of the respective cylinder is symmetrical relative to longitudinal axis of a cylinder liner of the respective cylinder. An independent claim is included for a modular system.
