To obtain a mold with which in the case of casting a gas exhausting system thin part, etc., with a cast steel, such high temperature strength as to be able to cast molten metal while holding the high temperature in burning time, is provided or a workability to shake-out of the mold is improved by increasing a collapsibility of the mold after casting and further, control of binder is easily performed and binding strength of the impregnated binder can easily be adjusted.
In the mold for casting, in which after molding casting sand into a desired shape, the binder is impregnated and dried and successively, burnt, and the molten metal is cast while holding the high temperature after burning, this binder uses an inorganic base binder having 4-20 mol ratio of SiO2/Na2O. Further, the inorganic base binder is used as silicate aqueous solution or colloidal silica and adjusted to in the range of 20-100% concentration by adding water in the dilutable range.
