To perform equipment control even from a place distant from an error monitoring system performing the error monitoring of a video sound equipment used at a broadcasting station etc.

A room manager performs the error detection for each video sound equipment and an error information file is written in an HDD 42 by a server 41. The HDD 42 is periodically checked by a supervisor 30 and an error monitoring is performed. The server 41 is connected wit a modem 43 and is connected with an external computer 44 to be a client via a telephone line. A computer 44 and the server 41 perform communication via the telephone line and the error information file written in the HDD 42 is read by the computer 44. As a result, the control of the video sound equipment can be performed from the outside. Because an error monitoring system is formed into a hierarchical structure, the access from the external computer 44 does not become the burden of whole of the system even if the access exists and the equipment control from a remote place can be performed in real time.
