Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound having a specific chemical structure being a monomer precursor for producing polycatenate.
SOLUTION: This compound is shown by formula I (R is an arbitrary substituent group promoting solubility in an organic solvent and not obstructing a metathesis of an olefin such as a hydrophobic alkyl or the like; (n) is 2-5). The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a tetrabenzylamide derivative of formula II with a carboxylic acid derivative containing a terminal carbon-carbon double bond of formula III in an organic solvent such as dimethylformamide or the like at -30°C to 30°C usually for 6-15 hours.
