Abstract:
To provide a motion detector and a handle device with which it is possible to detect a user operation that accompanies a direction with high accuracy by a sample and inexpensive configuration.SOLUTION: A motion detector 20 comprises: a sensor electrode 21 arranged on the reverse side of a surface cover of an operation handle 12, for detecting a change of electrostatic capacitance that corresponds to the contact with or proximity to the operation handle 12 of a human body; and a plurality of shield parts (boundary part 22b) arranged between the surface cover and the sensor electrode 21, for defining an electric field formed between a human body coming in contact with or approaching the operation handle 12 and the sensor electrode 21. The plurality of shield parts are arrayed by being spaced apart from each other, with the interval between the adjacent shield parts differentiated in the array direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
