To control motor torque in a good timing for torque control.
A motor 16 which drives a compressor 17 as a load is drive-controlled by an inverter portion 15. When the number of revolutions detected by a number-of-revolutions-of-motor detecting portion 25 and a differential pressure between the condensation pressure and the evaporating pressure of the compressor 17 which is detected by a pressure detecting portion 27, indicate that there is a large fluctuation in rotor position detection intervals (that is, the rotor position can be detected with accuracy), a microprocessor 20 inputs a rotor position signal detected by a rotor position detecting portion 19 and reads the pattern data corresponding to the mechanical position of the rotor indicated by the inputted rotor position signal from a memory 24, and then provides a signal for torque control based on the read-out pattern to the inverter portion 15 via a base driver portion 18. The inverter portion 15 drives the motor 16 based on the signal provided thereto.
