Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device for valve timing control of an internal combustion engine, capable of preventing a motor from being uncontrollable and suppressing vibration of the motor.SOLUTION: A rotation control unit determines whether a current situation is right after engine start at the time of cranking in engine start by detecting voltage for motor drive from a battery detection unit (S11-S18), and performs normal control without subjecting a motor to advance control right after reset release of an integrated circuit 26 right after engine start (S19). Consequently, driving torque can be increased, and the driving torque is prevented from going below detent torque.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
