The roof groove 103 along a longitudinal direction of a vehicle body is provided between a roof panel 101 and a side outer panel 102. The mounting structure for a roof molding is provided with: in the roof groove 103, a head part 2 for forming a design surface by facing an upper surface 2a to an opening of the roof groove 103; an extension lip 3 formed by extending the upper surface 2a of the head part 2 to the roof panel 101 side and abutted on the roof panel; a main lip 4 provided at a lower surface 2b side of the head part 2 and resiliently contacting with a side wall 104 of the roof groove 103; and a lower projection 5 provided on a lower surface 2a of the head part 2 and resiliently contacting with a side wall 106 of a side outer panel side of the roof groove 103. A position restriction lip 7 having a tip end resiliently contacting with the side wall 106 of the roof groove 103 is provided on a side surface at the side outer panel side of the head 2 or the lower projection 5 at a position of the approximately same height as the upper surface 2a of the head part 2 or a position higher than the position.
