Title:
NAINENKIKANNO TENKASOCHI
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5167844
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
1528378 Ignition systems ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 30 Oct 1975 [2 Nov 1974] 44819/75 Heading F1B An ignition system for an internal combustion engine comprises an ignition coil 6 having a primary winding 5 located in an electrical circuit which is interruptable by a switch 7 at the instant of ignition, the electrical circuit being of variable inductance which is arranged to assume a maximum value greater than that of the primary winding alone when the first half wave of a damped oscillatory voltage in the secondary winding 18 of the coil approaches its peak value, this maximum inductance being composed of the combination of the inductance of the primary winding 5 and the inductance of an induction coil 20 connected in series with the primary winding and with the switch 7. The switch 7 may be a mechanically operated circuit breaker as shown which is actuable by a cam 15 rotatable by the engine and a second switch 21 connectible in parallel with the induction coil 20 may also be actuable by the cam 15. Alternatively the mechanically operated switches may be replaced by transistors. The induction coil 20 may be in the form of a saturable inductance and may comprise a ferrite core. The system may comprise an optical signal generator.
