Title:
SURVEILLANCE DEVICE FOR FERRO-CONCRETE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0675084
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an optical surveillance device for temperature and the like in concrete by using optical fiber cables and optical output measuring instruments and detecting and transmitting the signal from ferro-concrete in a containment.

CONSTITUTION: A reactor containment 1 has concrete iron 1b in concrete, anti- corrosion thin tube 4 for protecting optical fiber cable, optical fiber cable 5 contained in the thin tube 4 and a measuring part 6. The cable 5 can be replaced easily for single part in case of degradation. By inputting pulses in one end of the cable 5 and measuring the Raman scattering light among reflection light at certain time later. Therefore, by laying the cable 5 spirally and densely in the concrete 1a, temperature measurement at all locations becomes possible. Also, by laying cables with anti-radiation and cables with standard specification in combination and comparing the change in light attenuation due to the radiation in operation, integral does rate in the concrete 1a can be known.
