PURPOSE: To open and close a fall preventive safety fence, to which steps for ascent and descent are added in a medical bed, by a patient her/himself.

CONSTITUTION: This safety fence is provided with at least a single safety fence 17 which is rotatably supported on a bed surface of a medical bed 10 by vertical support shafts and rotates between a closed position in parallel to the side edge of the bed and an opening position almost vertical to the side edge of the bed and steps 21 for ascent and descent which are installed under at least one side safety fence and are arranged closed to a bed side floor surface when the safety fence is opened.
