Abstract:
PURPOSE: To average the life of an entire refractory constituting a furnace wall by providing in the interior of a furnace wall part a high heat conduction layer having a greater heat conductivity for improving a heat transfer property directed from an inner surface part of the furnace wall corresponding to each boundary.
CONSTITUTION: There are constructed high heat conductive layers 10, 11 each having greater heat conductivities for raising heat conductivity directed from internal surface portions of the furnace wall 3 corresponding to boundaries A, B to the outside in the interior of a furnace wall 3 portion corresponding to each position of a boundary A between time surface of a molten article 7 melted in a furnace body 1 and the atmosphere in the furnace 1 and a boundary B between the molten article 7 and a stored molten article 9 accumulated on a furnace bottom 4. Hereby, heat entering from the inner surface of the furnace wall 3 corresponding to the locations of the boundaries A, B is transmitted more rapidly than those from other inner surface portions and is freed to the outside to reduce thermal stress on the furnace all part where severest invasion is produced. Additionally, temperature is lowered owing to the action of freed heat from the higher heat transfer layers 10, 11, and hence a solidified layer of the molten article 7 is formed on the surface of the same part for protection of the same.
