Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high service capacity, and showing superior cycle characteristic and a favorable high temperature proservation characteristic by improving a positive electrode active material.
CONSTITUTION: CuMn2O4. is used as a starting material. Spiral analogous compound oxide CuxMn2O4 (on the condition of 0.05≤x≤0.3) or spinel analogous compound oxide LiyCuxMn2O4 (on the condition of 0.05≤x≤0.3 and 0.1≤y≤2) which is produced by abstracting a part of copper therefrom is used as a positive electrode active material. Owing to this process a high temperature preservation characteristic is sharply improved.
