PURPOSE: To relax precision requirements for sticking of image pickup elements and to make the size of a prism small by correcting electrically the sticking error of the image pickup elements and correcting electrically a mirror image picture of the two image pickup elements.
CONSTITUTION: An image pickup element 104 for a luminance signal and an image pickup element 105 for a chrominance signal are stuck to a 2P prism 103. The signal from the image pickup element 104 is written in a memory (RAM) 111 according to an address commanded by a mirror image correction address generator 117, read by an address generated by a reference address generator 116 and the mirror image relation with a chrominance signal is corrected by the luminance signal processing side. The signal from the image pickup element 105 is given to a chrominance signal processing circuit 107, in which color difference signals R-Y, B-Y are obtained, classified depending on the position of picture elements and recorded respectively into color difference memories (RAM) 112, 113 (RAMA - RAMD). The read address of the chrominance signal is generated by converting the reference luminance address by an address conversion circuit 115.
