In the navigation device 100, the first storage means stores danger information and position information in association with each other when being carried by the user, and the second storage means stores danger information and position information in association with each other when being loaded on the vehicle. A discrimination means discriminates whether the navigation device is being carried by the user or loaded on the vehicle. When discriminated that the device is carried by the user, a danger information acquisition means acquires danger information associated with a present position from the danger information when being carried by the user. When discriminated that the device is loaded on the vehicle by the discrimination means, the danger information acquisition means acquires the danger information associated with the present position from the danger information when being loaded on the vehicle, and a providing means provides the acquired danger information to the user at a prescribed timing.
