This navigation device 1 includes a control part 2, a position detection part 3, a storage part 4, a position registration part 5, a route searching part 6, a power supply part 7, a residual power measuring part 8, a power consumption calculation part 9, an announcement requirement determination part 10, a voice output part 11, a display part 12 and a time measuring part 13. Electric energy consumed by guide processing from a present position acquired by the position detection part 3 to a registered position preserved in the storage part 4 by the position registration part 5, is calculated by the power consumption calculation part 9, and it is determined whether or not guidance to the registered position preserved in the storage part 4 can be performed by using the announcement requirement determination part 10 from the calculated consumed electric energy and electric energy measured by the residual power measuring part 8. When determined that guidance is about-to-be impractical, announcement to a user of the navigation device 1 is made by using the voice output part 11, and guidance to the registered position is performed.
