Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an improved needle removal device which can be operated by one hand by providing a means which is engaged with a flange of a needle when the needle is inserted into the upper end portion of a tube member and exerted with a downward force and a means which turns the flange when the needle is inserted into the upper end portion of the tube member and exerted with a downward force. CONSTITUTION: A syringe main body 16 is engaged with the upper surface 22 of a tube member 24, and a flange 26 of a needle 18 comes to a position adjacent to flange clamping pegs 30, 32. The pegs 30, 32 are deflected outwards by respective springs 34, 36, the outer end portions 38, 40 of the pegs 30, 32 abutting to the upper ends 42, 44 of helical slots 46, 48. The tube member 24 and the pegs 30, 32 are deflected upwards by a spring 50. When part of the syringe main body 16 is inserted downwards into a needle removal device 10 and the syringe main body 16 and the needle 18 are pressed downwards, the entire tube member 24 rotates, twisting the flange 26 of the needle 18 and disconnecting the needle 18 from the syringe main body 16.
