Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of synthesizing an alkylcarbonyl lactone compound in a high yield.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an alkylcarbonyl lactone compound by intramolecular-reacting an alkylcarbonyl carboxylic acid compound represented by the formula (1) using a peroxide and an iodide salt which is a catalyst precursor and adding a peroxide at a rate so that the molar ratio of the excessive peroxide to the alkylcarbonyl carboxylic acid compound in the reaction system is 1.5 or less. (Rrepresents an aliphatic alkyl group or an alicyclic alkyl group; Rrepresents an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aliphatic alkyl group or an alicyclic alkyl group; Rand Rmay be bonded to each other to form an alicyclic structure; and nrepresents an integer of 0 to 2.)SELECTED DRAWING: None
