PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound, having remarkable insecticidal characteristics, safely usable and useful as an insecticide effective against especially Aphis gossypii Glover or Nephotettix cincticeps.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I [R1 is alkyl or alkenyl; R2 is H, aJky1 or COR3 (R3 is H or alkyl); X is NR4 (R4 is H or alkyl); l is 0 or 1; n is 0-7; Y is CH or N; Q is CN or NO2; Z is alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or OR5 (R5 is H, alkyl, aryl, etc.), etc.], e.g. N-(4-hydroxybutyl)-N'-methyl-N"- nitroguanidine. This compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II (A is O or S; R13 is lower alkyl) with a compound of the formula R2NH-(CH2)nZ in an organic solvent (e.g. DMF), as necessary, in the presence of a base (e.g. triethylamine) at 0°C to the boiling point temperature of the solvent.
