Abstract:
To provide a method for increasing an insulin level in the body of a diabetic mellitus patient for treating the patient with diabetic mellitus.
This new homeobox type pancreatic islet transcription factor protein useful for adjusting the insulin-expression level in both in vivo and in vitro by bonding with a tissue specific element in a pancreatic insula hormone gene promoter is provided. Also, the nucleic acid sequence encoding such transcription factor protein and an assay by using the same are provided. The transcription factor protein can be used for adjusting the RNA transcription for producing an antibody in a treating composition and a method for treatment by using such protein or antibody.
