This new protein.peptide is obtained by replacing Cys28 with Arg, Met29 with Arg, Gly30 with either one of Arg, Ala, Asp, etc., among amino acid of region in an amino acid sequence having protein.peptide of glycoprotein hormone comprising a thyroid-stimulating hormone and represented by the formula and having protein.peptide and useful as a diagnostic or a treating medicine for thyroid diseases. The new protein-peptide is obtained by amplifying a gene coding thyroid.stimulating hormone by PCR method using a synthetic primer comprising a part of the gene, carrying out site-specific mutation of one or more sites among parts corresponding to CyS28, Met29 and Gly30 of the gene and integrating the gene into a vector and expressing the gene in a host cell.
