Title:
NON-MONOLITHIC ARRAY OF ACCURATELY POSITIONED DIODE LASER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3476568
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a monolithic laser array consisting of laser exciting elements fitted to a support which secures the accurate position and interval of the laser exciting elements and thermal crosstalk and is useful in reducing electric crosstalk.
CONSTITUTION: This array 100 includes two laser exciting elements 20a and 20b which are fitted to a support q102. the support 102 consists of a base 104 and projecting spacers 106, which are both in a T-shaped structure, formed of a thermally and electrically conductive material. The laser exciting elements 20a and 20b come into thermal contact with the support 102 and their electrode layers 28 are fitted to the support 102 in an electrical contact with spacers 106. The bottom parts of the laser exciting elements 20a and 20b are preferably covered with an insulating layer of silicon nitride, etc., thereby avoiding short- circuiting with the base 104.
