Abstract:
To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with suppressed gas generation in high-temperature storage and a high charge/discharge cycle characteristic by including at least one of vinylene carbonate and a vinylene carbonate derivative in a nonaqueous electrolyte.
This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is composed of a positive electrode comprising a composite oxide of a material capable of storing and releasing lithium, lithium and at least one transition metal, a negative electrode comprising graphite, and the nonaqueous electrolyte, and at least one of vinylene carbonate and the vinylene carbonate derivative is included 5-5000 ppm in the nonaqueous electrolyte.
