Abstract:
To provide a safety pack for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which eliminates the problem of battery burst due to reactions of lithium deposited on the negative electrode thereof after actuation of a safety valve of the battery.
The battery has the safety valve which releases combustible gas filling inside, before burst. A casing for the pack, insulating and sealing one, encases the batteries, wherein the vacant space in the case is filled with the mixed gas of carbon dioxide and nitrogen, or carbon dioxide and water vapor by a prescribed ratio.
