Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a material which overcomes difficulties with the conventional techniques and exhibits not only excellent braking performance and abrasion resistance but also excellent properties in attacking a mating plane when used in combination with a rotor or drum made up mainly of an aluminum alloy reinforced with a suitable hard material such as a ceramic material.
CONSTITUTION: The material contains a hard inorg. material having a Mohs' hardness of 6 or higher and is used in combination with a rotor or drum made up mainly of an aluminum alloy reinforced with a suitable hard material.
