Title:
NUCLEAR REACTOR CONTAINMENT VESSEL COOLING FACILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003240888
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To restrain rise of containment vessel pressure by restraining rise of the surface temperature of a suppression pool in an accident such as a pipe rapture of a nuclear reactor.

This facility has: a cooling water pool 7 opened to the atmosphere and installed above the containment vessel 12; a heat exchanger 4 in the cooling water pool; a steam chamber 3 in the upper part of the heat exchanger; a water chamber 5 in the lower part of the heat exchanger; a first pipe 2 for connecting a dry well 8 to the steam chamber; a second pipe 13 for connecting the bottom part of the water chamber to the suppression pool; and a third pipe 14 for connecting a space part of the water chamber to the suppression pool. The dry well is communicated with the suppression pool through a pressure restraining bent pipe 9. The pressure restraining bent pipe has a bent pipe opening 30. The opening hole of the third pipe in the suppression pool is higher than the bent pipe opening. The opening hole of the second pipe in the suppression pool is lower than the bent pipe opening.
