Title:
ODORLESS SOUNDPROOFING, HEAT-INSULATING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004238632
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an odorless porous molded product for soundproofing and/or heat-insulating, in particular a molded product which is produced by compression molding a fibrous semimanufactured product composed of a thermosetting binder and fibers and is suitable for backing a medium generating sound and/or radiating heat; and to provide a production method for the molded product.

The porous molded product is produced from a fibrous semimanufactured product comprising a nonwoven fabric composed of natural fibers and a thermosetting novolac resin. In producing the molded product, the semimanufactured product is placed in a mold for compression molding; then, a hot fluid of dry saturated steam is introduced into the mold; and after the semimanufactured product is kept under a prescribed pressure for a prescribed time, the hot fluid is released and the molded product is taken out. Thereby, the thermosetting novolac resin as the binder is crosslinked throughout the whole range of the molded product, emitting ≤20 ppm formaldehyde.
