Title:
OPERATION SYSTEM OF THYRISTOR BRIDGE CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5458342
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of bridge elements, to zero the DC average voltage and to reduce the power harmonics, by selecting the bypass arm in the control advancing angle and in the period of frequency lower than the AC power input. CONSTITUTION:In the bypass mode running of the thyristor bridge circuit, the operation of commutation is started at the control advancing angle beta and the allowable commutation angle gamma at that time can be detected. Next, commutation is made so that the control retard angle alpha can be equal to the allowable angle gamma. Further, when commutation is made so that the angle alpha is equal to the angle gamma at the half wave of the subsequent voltage the DC average voltage is zero, allowing to cancel the DC component ia of the AC current. Then, the harmonics can be reduced by reducing the selective period than that of the power input frequency. Similarly, the first selection is made the same as before, the next change over is made at the polarity flowing reverse current at that time, allowing to further reduce is.
