To provide an optical communication device which improves temperature compensation accuracy to a laser diode, and makes the wavelength of the laser diode constant.
The optical communication device includes a compensation signal generation device 26 which generates a compensation signal A10 for compensating the temperature of a laser diode 14 to a predetermined setting temperature based on a monitor signal A8 showing a drive current A6 monitored by a current monitoring device 24 and an external temperature signal A2 showing an external temperature T2, a computing device 28 which generates a difference signal A12 showing the difference T between the compensation temperature which the compensation signal A10 shows and an internal temperature T1 based on the internal temperature signal A4 showing the internal temperature T1 of a light module 4 detected by a temperature sensor 16 and the compensation signal A10, and a drive current generation device 30 which generates the drive current A6 based on the difference signal A12.
