Title:
OPTICAL DEFLECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001004946
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To lessen the deformation of a reflection surface by the centrifugal force during rotation of a rotary polyhedral mirror.

The rotary polyhedral mirror 10 is rotationally driven by a motor 20 consisting of a rotor 26 and a stator 27 to deflect and scan the light beam cast to the reflection surface 11 in the outer peripheral part 10a of the rotary polyhedral mirror 10. The thickness in the outer peripheral part 10a of the rotary polyhedral mirror 10 is expanded to a tapered shape outward in a diametral direction, by which the centrifugal force acting on the reflection surface 11 is prevented from being made nonuniform in the peripheral direction of the rotary polyhedral mirror 10 and the flatness of the reflection surface 11 is maintained.
