PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a constant zoom speed by keeping a manipulated variable of a zoom control switch, etc., constant while performing zoom drive.
SOLUTION: An optical device is provided with a storing means 6a for storing a real drive speed and a real drive direction of an optical adjusting means at the point of time of operating a storage instruction operating means 8 as preset speed/direction information when an optical adjusting means 9 is driven in advance before starting a preset drive control and also when the storage instruction operating means 8 is operated, and an arithmetic operation processing circuit 6 for performing speed/direction preset drive control that drives the optical adjusting means in a direction corresponding to the preset direction information at a speed corresponding to the preset speed information in response to the fact that a control start operating means 7 is operated when a drive command operating means 1 is not operated. The preset drive control is stopped in such a manner that the control start operating means is operated during control of the preset drive control, and after that, the preset drive control is resumed by operating the control start operating means.
