Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a coat removing part which the part is accurately positioned to a fiber holder by letting a holder holding body hold the fiber holder in a state of fixing an optical fiber, or making the holder holding body to be abutted, for example, on a base.
SOLUTION: While placing a coated optical fiber on grooves 24, 24,... of guide bodies 23A-23D in a base 19 of an optical fiber coat removing unit 11 in the state a movable holder 21 is away from the base 19, a fiber holder 13 is engaged with a holder holding body 22. At this time, the holder holding body 22 is abutted on the base 19, or positioned at the position apart by a predetermined distance, and a movable holding body 21 is made into a state of being folded on the base 19 by clamping the base and the movable holding body 21. Then, the coated optical fiber is aligned and positioned in the radius direction by control bodies of the grooves 24, 24,... and the movable holding body 21, and only the outer coating material of the coated optical fiber is stripped off by a cut-off member 25 and the movable cut-off member.
