To provide an optical monitor which includes an optical switch in simple configuration capable of stably photo-coupling a transmitting side and a receiving side at high speed.
A plurality of optical fibers 11 are held by a holding part 12 while being aligned in a row at fixed intervals. A detection part 115 for detecting light emitted from the optical fibers 11 is moved along with the row of the optical fibers 11 by a moving mechanism. The detection part 115 is provided with a light receiving part 20 and a light shielding member 130 which is located between the light receiving part 20 and the optical fibers 11. The light receiving part 20 is provided with a light receiving element 21 for photoelectric transduction, a fixed member 25 for supporting the light receiving element 21, a sheathing part 23 for covering the light receiving element 21, and a lead wire 22 electrically connected with the light receiving element 21. The light shielding member 130 has an opening 131 which allows photo-coupling of the light receiving part 20 and the optical fibers 11. For example, a surface of an opening limiting part 130a is coated with deep matte-black paint.
