Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device capable of preventing a reduction in the driving force in a tracking direction even when an objective lens is displaced in the tracking direction.
SOLUTION: This optical pickup device includes an objective lens holder 16 for fixing a pair of tracking coils 15a and 15b to an objective lens 11, and a pair of magnets 14a and 14b. The shapes of the pair of tracking coils 15a and 15b are rectangular or square. When the objective lens 11 is not displaced in a tracking direction, one vertical part 17a near the center line 19 of the tracking coil 15a is arranged in a position apart by a predetermined angle θ in a positive rotational direction from the center line 19 connecting the centers of the pair of magnets, and one vertical part 17b near the center line 19 of the tracking coil 15b is arranged in a position apart by a predetermined angle θ in a negative rotational direction from the center line 19.
