Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enhance a reliability of a phase-changing optical recording medium in the storage under a high-temperature environment by a method wherein a phase-changing recording layer is formed on a substrate, a dielectric layer is formed on the recording layer, the recording layer has a composition represented by a formula, and an activating energy for the recording layer is determined to a specific value.
CONSTITUTION: An optical recording medium 1 is provided with a lower dielectric layer 3, a phase-changing recording layer 4, an upper dielectric layer 5, a reflecting layer 6, and a protective layer 7 on a substrate 2. The recording layer 4 has a composition represented by a formula {(AaBbCc)1-dDd}1-e Me (A is Ag and/or Au, B is Sb and/or Bi, C is Te and/or Se, D is In or In and Al and/or P, M is at least one element selected out of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Mn, W, and Mo, and (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) representing an atomic ratio meet 0<ac≤0.02, 0.6≤b<1, 0<c<0.40. a+B+c=1, 0<d<0.06, and 0≤e≤0.20). An activating energy for the recording layer is determined to be not less than 3.0eV.
