Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having excellent recording and reproducing characteristics and light resistance in a wavelength selected from 600 to 700 nm by using cyanine dye.
SOLUTION: The optical recording medium comprises a recording layer containing at least trimethinecyanine dye and azo metal complex dye so that the trimethinecyanine dye and azo metal complex dye are contained at 10:3 to 1:6 by molar ratio. In this case, an absorption maximum of a longest wavelength side of absorption maximum in the case that molar extinction coefficient of solution of the azo metal complex dye is 30,000 or more is located at 0 to 50 nm of short wavelength side of an absorption wavelength as compared with the trimethinecyanine dye.
