An organic electroluminescent display using spherical spacers placed on a pixel defining film in the formation of an organic film layer including a light emitting layer with an evaporation mask, includes a substrate, a first electrode disposed on the substrate, a pixel defining film including an opening section for exposing the first electrode and a non-opening section divided into a first area and a second area, a plurality of spherical spacers disposed on the second area of the pixel defining film, an organic film layer disposed on the first electrode and including the light emitting layer, and a second electrode disposed on the organic film layer, wherein the first area is disposed along an edge portion of the opening section so as to prevent pixel defining film damage due to unevenness of the evaporation mask.
