Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oxidized compound at a high reaction conversion ratio and a high selectivity, by reacting a conjugated compound with oxygen in the presence of an oxidation catalyst consisting of an imido compound. SOLUTION: This method for oxidizing a conjugated compound is to react the conjugated compound such a conjugated dienes, an α,β-unsaturated nitrile, an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid or their derivatives with oxygen in the presence of a catalyst consisting of an imido compound of formula I [R1, R2 are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an aryl, hydroxyl, an alkoxyl, a carboxy, etc.: X is O or hydroxyl; (n) is 1-3] or a catalyst consisting of an imido compound of formula II and a co-catalyst (e.g.; boric acid), at 0-300°C, under an atmospheric pressure to an applied pressure to obtain a corresponding oxide. As the imido compound of the formula I, a compound of the formula II, etc., are cited. By using the above catalyst, the conjugated compounds are effectively oxidized without requiring an exhaust gas treatment.
