PURPOSE: To obtain an oxide superconductive wire rod capable of offering a high critical current in the practical use such as coil formation even at a high practical temperature.

CONSTITUTION: In an oxide superconductive wire rod, an oxide superconductor is metal formed in a sheath. The shape forming a boundary face between metal and a superconductor in the circumferential cross-section is like a hexagon and consequently the boundary face can be easy to form in line and to orientate so that a high critical current may be obtained.
