To provide a parking brake device for an industrial vehicle where a release operation of the parking brake can be easily performed.
The parking brake device includes a parking brake pedal 17 that is swingably provided to a floor member 11 of a vehicle body 1 and has a footboard 19 at a front end, a latching piece 26 which is supported at an upper position corresponding to the footboard of the pedal so as to be swingable in an vertical plane and is formed with a recessed portion 26a at a bottom portion thereof, a coil spring 27 capable of biasing the latching piece rearward, and a regulation pin 28 which stops the latching piece biased rearward by the coil spring at an engaging position where the recessed portion is engaged with the footboard of the pedal. An operating state of the brake is maintained with the footboard engaged with the recessed portion of the latching piece by a driver depressing the pedal. Then, the latching piece can be pivoted forward by the driver's toe against a bias force of the coil spring when the recessed portion of the latching piece is disengaged from the footboard.
