To provide a partition wall which is excellent in sound insulating properties even when a square cylindrical metallic section which is generally available as a stud is used.

The partition wall is constructed by arranging face plates on both side surfaces of the studs. In the partition wall, the studs are each formed of the square cylindrical metallic section, and one of side surfaces of each stud, on which the face plates are not placed, has holes having a diameter of 10 to 60 mm with a pitch of 100 to 2000 mm. The holes are formed on the same side of the metallic sections, respectively.
