Abstract:
PURPOSE: To properly discriminate and output an unlearnt pattern by the pattern matching device which uses a neural network.
CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a unit group 16 to which a pattern to be discriminated is inputted, an output unit group 20 which outputs a pattern corresponding to the input pattern, and an intermediate unit group 18 which connects the input unit group and output unit group to each other by plural coupling elements; and each unit 22 inputs the sum of the products of weight coefficients assigned by the coupling elements 24 and the output of the precedent-stage unit, performs arithmetic based upon an input/output function including the differences between those input values and a set threshold value as independent variables, inputs the results to other units through coupling elements for output, repeatedly correcting the weight coefficients of relative units with a tutor signal, and then performs pattern matching, thus constituting the pattern matching device.
