Abstract:
To attain both reduction of noise caused by a soft magnetic layer and high mass productivity.
The perpendicular magnetic recording medium 10 mounted on a hard disk drive of a perpendicular magnetic recording system is provided with a disk substrate 12, a hard magnetic layer 16 deposited on the disk substrate 12, a first non-magnetic layer 18 deposited on the hard magnetic layer 16, the soft magnetic layer 20 deposited on the first non-magnetic layer 18 and magnetically coupled with the hard magnetic layer 16 and a perpendicular magnetic recording layer 24 deposited on the soft magnetic layer 20.
