Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain a light generating bisazo pigment and an image member which is formed by using the pigment and is sensitive to waveguides of a specific range by forming the member of a light forming layer consisting of a bisazo compd. and a hole conduction layer.

CONSTITUTION: The image member having the photoconductive layer consisting of the bisazo pigment and the charge or hole conduction layer consisting of allylamines is formed. The member has the sensitivity with the light of the wavelength range of about 400 to 700nm and is exhibited by visible light response and the red illumination response from an LED printer. More specifically, the photoconductive bisazo compd. expressed by formula I is used. In the formula, Cp is an azo coupler; for example, 2-hydroxy-3-nathanilide, etc. As an example of the photosensitive device formed by using the bisazo compd. obtd. in such a manner, the photosensitive device is composed of a base 1, a hole blocking layer 2 an adhesive intermediate layer 3, a bisazo light forming layer 4 and a hole conduction layer 5.
