To provide a photographing apparatus and the like that can synthesize a portrait image of a user and a background image without causing the sense of discomfort.SOLUTION: A photographing apparatus has a control device, a display part, a charging part, a photographing part, an illumination device, a printer, a communication control part, a printed matter exit opening, a background plate, and the like. The photographing part photographs a user, and the control device creates a composite image obtained by combining a portrait image of the user in a photographed image and a background image. When creating the composite image, the control device extracts the portrait image from the photographed image, and can adjust color of the portrait image matching the background image, make an outline of the portrait image translucent, and correct brightness distribution of the portrait image matching the background image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
